E16 CLT NEWS – BOARD MEMBER RECRUITMENT

E16 CLT NEWS – BOARD MEMBER RECRUITMENT

Exciting times are ahead, and you could be an integral part of the first-ever Community Land Trust in Newham. By joining our board of trustees, you would be making some of the major decisions which directly affect what we believe, to be a revolution in the way people are housed today and into the future.

If you have some time to spare and would like to add your passion and ambition to that of our existing board members you might be one of the people we are looking for. We need your help to drive our project towards the fruition and a truly affordable way of housing now and in years to come.

The Story So Far

In a relatively short time, the team has built on the work of PEACH’s Alternative Regeneration Plan, recruited over 150 members, raised over £40,000 towards our first project and appointed an architect to help us do our first feasibility study. With the support and guidance of institutions such as the Community Led Housing Hub, the National Community Land Trust Network, London CLT and professionals within the industry, we are now making great strides toward our primary goal of securing Newham’s first Community Land Trust. We have forged a good working relationship with our Mayor and relevant council officers who we believe, who are also working to deliver Mayor Rokhsana Fiaz’s promise to “support the establishment of a Community Land Trust”.

Next Steps – Become a Board Member!

As we strive to progress our project we need more board members from the community to help achieve our goals. Being a board member of E16, your input will be invaluable and you can help shape the future of our community’s affordable housing.

If you are interested in becoming a board member- please read the Board Member Role Profile and then fill in the short application form and send to info@e16clt.co.uk by the end of Thursday 25th June. We will then get in touch to arrange an informal interview which will be held on Monday 29th or Tuesday 30th June in the evening.
